She conquered the internet before she was twenty. In 2026, Azziad Nasenya is doing something harder, building a career on her own terms, one intentional step at a time.
The content creator turned actress is back on screen as Natasha in Maisha Magic Plus’s Lazizi, reuniting with a cast and crew she describes as family. Working again with producer Reuben Odanga, Pascal Tokodi — “my brother for life, I call him Toko” — Helen Keli, and Mwaniki Mageria, whom she previously co-hosted Concert Nyumbani with, made the transition onto the new set feel less like a job and more like a homecoming.
Preparing for Natasha was deliberate. “I immersed myself in the show, studied my character bio, and explored different ways of summoning Natasha,” she says. The result is a character she describes in one word as a “lover girl” — polished, strategic, and quietly vulnerable beneath all that control.
Off screen, Nasenya is equally intentional about protecting her peace. “Therapy helps. Prayer grounds me. Blocking people protects me. If you stress me, I’ll block you,” she says matter-of-factly. She filters comments, switches off her phone, and has been known to go three days without it. Social media, she admits, has been a complicated relationship. “A love-hate affair. I am glad that social media has helped me build my brand, but I have learned to draw boundaries to protect my mental health.”
On pressure, her perspective is clear. “Pressure is what creates diamonds, after all. It’s not about avoiding pressure, but learning how to manage it, channel it, and grow through it.”
Success, she says, is simpler than people think. “If I’m better today than I was yesterday, that’s success.”
Her 2026 bucket list includes learning to ride a horse, picking up a new language, and travelling to Bangkok. She prefers tea over coffee, casual over glam, and the beach over everything else.
Lazizi airs every Monday to Friday at 8:00 PM on Maisha Magic Plus, DStv Channel 163 and GOtv Channel 3.
