The National Basketball Association has returned to SuperSport channels across Africa for the first time since the 2015-16 season with live games also streaming on Showmax Premier League for the first time.

MultiChoice announced the deal will bring selected regular season games, playoffs, and All-Star Weekend coverage to more than 50 countries across the continent.

Fans can now watch global stars including reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nikola Jokić, Joel Embiid, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Pascal Siakam and Luka Dončić. The games will air on SuperSport Action, SuperSport Variety 3 and other channels, with highlights available on digital and social platforms.

Rendani Ramovha, CANAL+ Director of Sport Content for English and Portuguese-speaking Africa, described the return as a landmark moment. “This deal is massive for the growth of basketball in Africa,” Ramovha said. “We are delighted to once again offer our viewers a front-row seat to the speed, skill and drama of the world’s most exciting basketball league.”

The NBA will be available on DStv Compact packages across Sub-Saharan Africa and on GOtv Supa Plus. Games will feature fully produced English-language feeds and will be accessible on DStv linear channels, DStv Stream, GOtv and Showmax Premier League. Viewers can also catch up on missed games through DStv CatchUp.

The return comes as basketball’s popularity continues to grow across Africa, giving fans access to watch some of the world’s top athletes including Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves and other NBA stars. The NBA is also available on CANAL+ platforms in French.
