Reality TV star Carey Priscilla has finally addressed allegations that she stirred up drama between The Mommy Club NBO cast members Jackie Matubia and Lynne Njihia.
The mother of three and owner of two Nairobi beauty schools spoke exclusively about the behind the scenes tensions that have dominated recent episodes of the Showmax series, while also opening up about her controversial vasectomy stance and rejected marriage proposal that sparked social media debates.
The Kenyan model, actress and celebrity makeup artist has built an impressive empire that includes working with some of the biggest names in the industry while entertaining fans with her TikTok skits featuring husband Benitto.
In this exclusive conversation, she sets the record straight and shares intimate details about her reality TV journey, managing her thriving career while raising three children and maintaining a strong marriage in the public eye.
Her path to The Mommy Club NBO happened almost by chance. Having previously worked in television as a makeup artist, Carey was familiar with reality shows but joining the cast was unexpected. “It was last December and everything felt so hectic. I was super busy and didn’t even have time to check my emails properly. My PA was off at the time and we were just coming out of the festive season, which made everything even more chaotic. The production team had been trying to reach me. They sent emails, WhatsApp messages and even called. But thankfully, everything worked out and here we are today. I’m so grateful for this opportunity.”

Managing three children alongside multiple business ventures requires significant sacrifices, according to Carey. “I won’t lie, parenting is no walk in the park and there are no shortcuts or secrets to making it easy. Honestly, if you’re not ready to sacrifice, don’t rush into having babies. It’s a huge commitment,” she explains. Faith and her support system have been crucial. “I firmly believe that God’s timing is always perfect. My faith in God has been my anchor. Without it, I think I would have struggled so much more, maybe even fallen into depression.”
One topic that generated significant buzz was Carey’s candid discussion about vasectomy. Her approach to family planning has been intentional, choosing to have her children close together while putting her career on hold. “I have never used any form of family planning up to now. I was very intentional about wanting my kids back to back, and thankfully, I’ve been able to achieve that. But to make it happen, I’ve had to sacrifice a lot like putting my career on hold and focusing fully on my family.”
Given her sacrifices, Carey believes her husband should consider a vasectomy. “With all that I’ve given, I feel it’s only fair for my man to step up and take on a vasectomy. It’s simple, not complicated, and it gives me peace of mind for the next 15 years until menopause.” She’s noticed local resistance to this topic. “Many aren’t ready to have that conversation. They’re afraid to commit to one woman fully. Their biggest fear? ‘What if we don’t stay together? What if I want more kids later?’ Honestly, I think it’s selfish. If you can’t even consider a vasectomy for the sake of your wife and your family, where’s the fairness in that?”
Carey and Benitto’s relationship has become aspirational for fans. Her philosophy on love is rooted in spirituality. “For me, a man can never truly love you right if he doesn’t love God first. He needs to have a personal relationship with God because it’s through that connection that he learns how to love.” As a wife, she actively works to keep their relationship vibrant, even taking classes with a sex therapist to strengthen their bond. “Since being in this relationship, I’ve taken it upon myself to learn and grow. I’ve even taken classes with a sex therapist because that’s how committed I am to make my marriage work.”

One controversial moment occurred when Carey rejected Benitto’s marriage proposal on the show, sparking social media debate. Her approach to public criticism is grounded in authenticity. “Living under public scrutiny isn’t easy, but I’ve learned how to handle it. The key is to always be my authentic self. I don’t let societal pressure change who I am or how I live.”
Regarding her relationship with Jackie Matubia, Carey offers a compassionate perspective. “Well, I wouldn’t call her dramatic, but Jackie is someone who projects a lot. Whenever we were together with the other moms and the topic of marriage comes up, she got triggered. And honestly, I get it. It’s not easy dealing with the emotional weight of having two marriages that didn’t work out, especially when you’re surrounded by younger people who seem to be succeeding in that area.”
Through her candid revelations, Carey emerges as a woman who refuses to be defined by a single narrative, approaching each challenge with faith, authenticity and determination to live life on her own terms.
