Media personality will host two part finale bringing together season’s five cast members

Veteran radio presenter Cess Mutungi has been selected to host the highly anticipated reunion episodes of The Mommy Club NBO, which will stream in two parts on 29 August and 5 September 2025.

The announcement comes as the reality show concluded its 11 week inaugural season, having consistently generated significant online discussion throughout its run. The reunion episodes will bring together the show’s five cast members (Jackie Matubia, Ofentse Tsipa, Lynne Njihia, Pierra Makena and Carey Priscilla) to address the season’s most contentious moments.

Mutungi brings extensive broadcasting experience to the role, having been a driving force behind popular radio programmes including Classic 105’s Drive Show and Capital FM’s Jam 98.4, which she both co-hosted and produced. Her career has established her as one of Kenya’s most recognisable radio personalities, known for her distinctive voice and direct interviewing style.

“I have always believed in women speaking their truth – loudly. We will be tackling everything everyone is thinking but is too afraid to ask. My role will be to hold everyone accountable and get the answers the Mommy Club fans have been waiting for. Rest assured, no stone will be left unturned,” Mutungi said.

Eugene Mbugua, executive producer at D&R Studios, expressed confidence in the hosting selection. “Having Cess Mutungi host the reunion is the perfect full circle moment. She is bold, dynamic and unapologetically real – exactly what The Mommy Club NBO stands for. Viewers should prepare for a reunion that is every bit as compelling as the season itself,” he stated.

The Mommy Club NBO represents the fifth iteration of the franchise, following successful launches in South Africa and Tanzania. The Nairobi edition, produced by D&R Studios, the same team behind The Real Housewives of Nairobi, follows five affluent mothers as they balance parenting responsibilities with their personal ambitions in Kenya’s capital.

The show has expanded its reach beyond streaming platforms, making its television debut on Maisha Magic Plus last Saturday, broadening its audience across the region.

The reunion episodes are expected to address various conflicts and storylines that emerged during the season, with Mutungi positioned to facilitate discussions between cast members who have had public disagreements both on and off screen.

All 11 episodes of The Mommy Club NBO’s first season remain available for viewing on Showmax ahead of the reunion episodes’ release.
