
Johnnie Walker will introduce a new whisky variant to the Kenyan market later this month, targeting both experienced whisky drinkers and newcomers to the category.
The new expression features what the company describes as a brighter, sweeter and smoother profile compared to traditional Johnnie Walker offerings.
The whisky is designed for versatile consumption, suitable for drinking over ice, mixing with lemonade or casual social occasions.
“We are incredibly excited to introduce A brighter, sweeter Scotch that’s perfect for the fun-loving and the curious, like a tall glass of sunshine made to be enjoyed during those unexpected sundowner moments with good friends,” said Jean Okech-Nyawara, Head of Marketing, Spirits East Africa, EABL. “A more accessible style of Scotch that’s focused on introducing drinkers to the amazing flavors of Scotch Whisky.”
The launch will be supported by promotional events across Nairobi throughout August, including sundowner sessions and mixology experiences.
Okech-Nyawara positioned the launch within Kenya’s broader consumer trends. “Kenya has always embraced innovation and flavor as a reflection of its dynamic spirit and desire for progress. This launch captures that same bold energy and drive for reinvention. We are inviting consumers to step into a new chapter of Scotch, one that is as much about personal style and sociability as it is about heritage.”
The introduction comes as Kenya’s whisky market continues to show growth, with consumers demonstrating increased interest in premium spirits and innovative drinking experiences.
