Canvas Cosmetics introduces comprehensive makeup line at upscale Nairobi launch

A Nairobi based cosmetics company has expanded its product offering with a new collection specifically designed to cater to diverse skin tones across the Kenyan market.

Canvas Cosmetics hosted a launch event on Saturday at Nomad Kwetu by Hilton to introduce its latest range, which includes 31 products spanning concealer, foundation and pressed powder categories.

The new line offers nine concealer options, 12 foundation varieties and 10 pressed powder shades.

The company partnered with spirits brand Tanqueray No. Ten for the launch, creating what organizers described as a fusion of beauty artistry and beverage craftsmanship.

Jean Okech-Nyawara, EABL’s Head of Marketing, Spirits Portfolio, East Africa, explained the collaboration: “Inspired by Tanqueray No. Ten’s signature elegance and the artistry of the new Canvas cosmetics line, we created a singular experience reflecting our shared dedication to craftsmanship, confidence and refined self-expression.”

The evening featured specialty cocktails crafted by Diageo Luxury Spirits Brand Ambassador KingKline Ojal, who developed two drinks themed around the cosmetics launch. The Earl Gray Fizz and The Chamomile Foundation were created to mirror the makeup collection’s focus on flawless finishes and radiant bases.

Canvas Cosmetics’ expansion comes at a time when African beauty brands are increasingly focusing on shade diversity to better serve local consumers.

The beauty industry in Kenya has seen growing demand for products that cater to the full spectrum of African skin tones, with local brands positioning themselves as alternatives to international companies.
