The transformational coach opens up about blending cultures, breaking parenting myths and stepping into Nairobi’s high-society reality TV scene

Ofentse Tsipa’s journey from personal transformation to helping others manifest their dreams has led her to an unexpected destination, the spotlight of Showmax’s newest reality series, The Mommy Club NBO.
Ofentse, who specializes in helping clients manifest love and financial success, is trading her usual behind the scenes role for centre stage alongside Nairobi’s most affluent mothers.
The sister of South African actor Lemogang Tsipa, who portrayed Shaka Zulu in the hit series Shaka iLembe, Ofentse has carved out her own path as a transformational coach, podcast host and what she calls a “global mama.” Her name, meaning “Christ has conquered,” reflects her mother’s perseverance through multiple miscarriages, a resilience that seems to run in the family.
Redefining Modern Motherhood
Living in Kenya with her Dutch husband and two children, Ofentse brings a unique multicultural perspective to parenting that challenges traditional approaches. “In my house, my kids are both seen and heard,” she explains, rejecting the old-school “children should be seen and not heard” mentality.
Her coaching background has fundamentally shaped her approach to motherhood. “The biggest lesson has been to learn to feel my feelings and be present,” she says. “This has helped me walk alongside my kids, seeing them as equals – real human beings with their own thoughts and feelings.”
Navigating Cultural Fusion
As part of what she describes as “100% a multicultural family,” Ofentse faces the daily challenge of blending Dutch, French, South African Tswana and Zulu traditions with Kenyan culture. “I like to call myself a global mama because we are raising global citizens,” she explains. “We focus on being pan-African and global, aligning our values while adapting to different traditions. For example, we celebrate Christmas the Dutch way but also honour Zulu practices.”

The Reality of Reality TV
Known for hosting monthly “mommies and mimosas” events that bring together Nairobi’s social set, Ofentse was a natural fit for The Mommy Club NBO. The show promises to showcase how affluent mothers navigate parenting, ambition and high-society.
When asked about swapping lives with another cast member, she reveals her fascination with co-star Jackie’s journey. “She’s got an intriguing mix of challenges; it’s a lot! She is solo, balancing work and parenting, which is similar to my life but on a smaller scale. I would love to experience navigating dating again, rebuilding co-parenting relationships with the fathers of my kids and exploring that dynamic.”

Breaking the Parenting Myths
Ofentse’s candid approach extends to dismantling common parenting misconceptions. “One myth I no longer believe in is that you can control kids,” she admits. “I used to judge moms when their kids threw tantrums in supermarkets, until it happened to me! You realise it is not about controlling them but allowing them to have their feelings and express themselves.”
Her most surprising challenge? Postpartum recovery with her now 10-month-old baby. “No one really prepares you for it. It is like stepping into motherhood and realising, ‘Welcome to hell,’ in some ways,” she shares.
Managing the Help
With two nannies supporting her household, Ofentse has developed a systematic approach to domestic management that reflects her coaching philosophy. “Trust your gut during the interview! Chemistry is everything,” she advises other mothers. “Hire for character, not skills. Skills can be taught.”
Her Monday team meetings and non-micromanaging approach have created what she describes as successful working relationships built on “teamwork and respect.”
Legacy and Perception
Despite her success, Ofentse battles misconceptions about her personality. “People think I am a snob! I have heard it so many times. Then they meet me and go, ‘Oh my goodness, you’re so nice in person!’”
Looking toward the future, she hopes her digital footprint will inspire her children. “I want them to see a legacy of helping people become the best versions of themselves, of authenticity, and of loving life as it is while growing.”
The Mommy Club NBO is available to watch on Showmax, offering viewers an inside look at how Kenya’s affluent mothers balance family, career and social expectations.
